I'm dropping a new track on you all today! "What You Got" is a song about accepting yourself for exactly who you are and recognizing it takes time to figure yourself out. Life throws a lot of difficult moments in front of us and this song says expect it and you will persevere. Have you been there?
"What You Got" is a roots song that was built around an acoustic guitar finger picking pattern which I played to a bass & drum groove. I decorated the track by playing Dobro, Blues Harp, Hammond Organ, Saxophone and threw in a Triangle for good measure.
